This website has been launched by "Bute Beyond 2000" - a multi-agency partnership on the Island dedicated to the economic re-generation of Bute through a variety of initiatives. The partnership comprises the following organisations: Argyll and Bute Council, Argyll & the Islands Enterprise, VisitScotland Tourist Board, Bute Enterprises Ltd., Bute Business Resources Ltd., Bute Community Council, Bute Marketing and Tourism Ltd., Bute Estate, FyneHomes Housing Association, Caledonian MacBrayne, Historic Scotland, Mount Stuart Trust.
This website does not purport to be an "all-singing-all-dancing" visual extravaganza! So there are no advertisements, unsolicited 'pop-ups' or nuisance banners. Instead, the concept behind it is very basic: it is designed (a) to be a user-friendly index/directory guiding researchers to the multitude of other electronic resources that already cover aspects of the "Bute Lifestyle", and (b) to fill in additional information that does not already appear in the existing resources. Its aim therefore is to provide a single point of entry into a comprehensive information-base, within a structured framework, that would be useful to all audiences - whether it be tourists, or people considering re-locating to the Island for whatever reason, or people looking for investment opportunities. We are confident that the site fulfills its purpose, and demonstrates persuasively that Bute is indeed "the Island for all Reasons."
