Flanked by the spectacular Kyles-of-Bute in the north (a designated 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty', Bute is a popular destination for yachtsmen. It is a safe sailing area and has sheltered bays for safe anchorage. Rothesay Bay has visitor moorings maintained by the Bute Berthing Company which also runs Rothesay's transit marina facilities in the outer and inner harbour. A new marina has recently been completed at Port Bannatyne. For website links see the centre panel on this page.
